Stakeholders in the tourism sector have been urged to engage directly with preserving and developing natural surroundings for the economic growth which will benefit the coming generations.

The remarks were given by the Chairman of Same Cultural Tourism Network (SCTN), Elly Kimbwereza when calling upon wananchi to plant as many trees as possible.

Kimbwereza was in a company of two natural tourists from Israel, Elena Erez and Daniel who were on a vist to Pare mountains.

Kimbwereza urged all villages where cultural tourism is being carried out to have in place strategies which would allow tourists to plant trees whenever they visit their areas.

"Cultural tourism and tourism that preserve the environment are always recognized as being suitable in improving tourism activities since they respect the natural heritage of a certain area and its people," said Kimbwereza.

He said villagers in areas where cultural tourism is being practiced must have equal share economically, socially and traditionally especially in so far as employment creations as promised by the president are concerned.

Kimbwereza asked big tourist companies to advertise in a way that involves the preservation of the environment.

He also took the opportunity to convey the message to the 354 tourists who are expected to come during the next tourism season.

"These people will visit some of the areas where cutltural tourism is being practised. They will visit villages in Monduli, Hanang, Longido, Same, Mwanga and Lushoto," he said.
